Suicide Prevention Week

Suicide Prevention Week is September 10-14!

Did you know?
Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for youth aged 10-14.

In response to this alarming statistic, Suicide Prevention Week is a week aimed at bringing awareness to suicide warning signs, how to get help, and suicide resources that are available.

At Sullivan Middle School, student council is hosting a Spirit Week to show support for suicide prevention.
Monday - Pajama Day
Tuesday - Crazy Sock Day
Wednesday - Favorite Disney Character
Thursday - Hat Day
Friday - Wear Purple and Gold

Each student will receive a card with a yellow ribbon.

This card is meant to be a simple way for students who are hurting to reach out for help.

Additionally, in the middle school art class, students will receive a short presentation about suicide warning signs and ways to get help before beginning a project in which they will create Suicide Prevention posters.  These posters will be placed around the school.

Warning Signs

Students are encouraged to speak up and get help from a trusted adult if they or someone they know are at risk of suicide.

Parents, if you need additional resources or have any questions/concerns, please contact Mrs. Wells.
